Join us for a spectacular free weekend of films and movie magic in unexpected places around Leytonstone Town Centre.
Indoor and outdoor screenings are popping up all weekend, alongside workshops, activities and installations with music, markets and food stalls. Bringing together people to celebrate Leytonstone's rich cinema history and inspire a new generation of makers, risk takers and radical thinkers.
Check out the film programme, covering everything from anime hit Paprika, modern cult classic BlacKkKlansman, a live score of Buster Keaton’s The General, vintage Agnès Varda and more. Or get to know the history of the homegrown Grime music within the borough and Leytonstone's now lost picture palaces.
There will also be some family film fun in St John's Churchyard with activities and workshops to inspire the littlest ones.
Leytonstone Loves Film is produced by the Barbican in partnership with local residents and organisations and Waltham Forest London Borough of Culture 2019. All events, activities and screenings will be free, unticketed and managed on a first come first served basis to make the weekend as inclusive as possible.
Download the weekend planner here to plan your visit.
