10 Years of Lord of the Mics (15)
As part of our Grime Waltham Forest programme celebrating artists and producers from the borough, Beatroots Creative is screening 10 Years of Lord of the Mics followed by Q&A with grime pioneer, Jammer.
An artist, producer and DJ, Jammer has played a pivotal role in the emergence and development of grime. The basement of Jammer's family home in Leytonstone hosted many of grime's best known artists at the early stages of their career for studio sessions and MC clashes. In 2004, Jammer and Chad 'Ratty' Stennett began to organise and film these clashes between artists which were then sold as DVD Box sets under the name Lord of the Mics. Lord of the Mics has gone on to become one of grime's most archetypal brands with the eighth edition just released.
